Mini Animania and Why I Cosplay
Mini Animania was last weekend and I entered my first ever cosplay competition there. The costume I chose, Maria the Feso Merchant from Granado Espada, was the most complex costume I've ever attempted and took me just under 3 months to complete. I attempted lots of things that were completely new to me - wig work, armour, fabric painting - but in the end I learned so much and, above all, gained the confidence to try more new things in the future!
I came away from Mini Animania with Master Novice. I'm ecstatic with the result! I also had a great day shooting with :fiathriel (https://www.deviantart.com/fiathriel) and :iconkrisez: as well as hanging out with :iconbadluckkitty:

I really am so happy for him. I owe him a lot; without his photography I'm just a girl with a lot of costumes. His talent with studio photography and knack for lighting are only part of his ability to bring the best out of his models. This kind of recognition has been a long time coming.
